Independence Day and Premdeep Day



On Aug 15th, Independence Day is celebrated with patriotic fervour and a lot of enthusiasm. The day starts with march past and Flag hoisting by the head of the Institutions, followed by various cultural activities by the students. Students go in a procession to nearby villages to spread national awareness. This day also happens to be the ”Premdeep Day” as Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba inaugurated Premdeep on the 15th August 1994. Premdeep is an abode where Swami stays during His visit to Muddenahalli.

Republic Day and School day

Annual school day celebrations will be held on 26th January which happens to be the Republic day. The day starts with parade followed by various cultural activities by the students. Prizes will be given away for students who have excelled in sports, cultural competitions and academic performance. Any special achievements by the students will be honoured on this day.

Homa and Pooja


Ganhoma and Sathya Sai Pooja are performed every alternate month. Significance of performing the Homa and Pooja are:
  • To inculcate Indian culture and spread awareness among students about ourancient culture.
  • To invoke the blessings of the Lord for the safe functioning of the institution and welfare of the staff and students.
  • Poojas and Homas end with the prayer ‘Samastha Loka Sukhinobhavanthu’ meaning- ‘let every being in the universe enjoy happiness.’
Saraswathi Pooja is conducted at the end of the academic year before the final exams, to invoke the blessings of Sai Sarawathi so that students may perform well in the examinations.

Annual Sports and Cultural Meet


  • The annual sports and cultural meet will be usually held in the month of December for two days. Various sports, cultural competitions will be conducted on these days.
  • Each wing (Higher primary, High School, PUC and CBSE) is divided into four groups – Sathya, Dharma, Santhi and Prema. Each group is further divided into juniors, seniors and inters. Competitions will be held separately for each of these subgroups.
  • Track events and field events include 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 600mts, 1500mts, 3000mts and cross country race, Shot-put, Javelin throw, Discus throw and Hammer throw.
  • Team events include Kho-Kho, Football, Cricket, Throw ball, Volley ball, Basket ball, Badminton, Table Tennis etc.
  • Indoor games include Carrom, Chess.
Sthapana Day (Foundation Day)

Sthapana day is celebrated on 7th December every year. Loka Seva Vrinda was founded on this day by Sri Madiyal Narayan Bhat of hallowed memory.. Homas like Gayathri, Ayushya, Mruthunjeya are performed on this day. The senior members of the Trust and ritviks will address the students on significance of the Homas.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Birthday and Anna’s Birthday

The birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Madiyal Narayan Bhat is celebrated on 30th November every year. School uniforms to day scholars and clothes to workers are distributed by the Trust on this day. The guests and senior members of the trust will address the students on the life and message of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Madiyal Narayan Bhat .

Ganesha Festival

Ganesha Festival is celebrated in a grand manner for three days. A large Ganesha idol made of clay is mounted in a beautiful shrine in the auditorium and special prayers are offered. Various cultural programs are held on all the three days. Delicious food is served during the festival.


On the third day the Ganesha idol is taken in a magnificent procession and is then immersed in a nearby lake.

Shivarathri Festival

Shivarathri festival is celebrated with utmost devotion. Students and Staff participate in the overnight bhajans , commonly known as Akhanda Bhajans. A unique feature to be noted is that ‘Akhanada Bhajans’ are conducted worldwide by various Sai Institutions during this time.

Other Festivals

The other festivals celebrated in Muddenahalli include Dussara, Dipavali, Krishna Janmastami, Christmas, Sankranthi etc.

Decoration

It is a matter of great pleasure that Swami has kindly granted His Institution at Muddenahalli the privilege of floral decorations in Prashanthi Nilayam on the occasion of the annual convocation of Sri Sathya Sai University and on His Birthday celebration every year. Ever since 1987, students and staff of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Educational institutions have been offering this humble service at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan .The decorations have earned the admiration of Swami all these years.
